I resigned myself to the "sinatra legend", and it's constituents long ago, but, if you would lissen to Mel Torme' and TONY BENNET ,with the same jaundiced viewpoint, it's very possible,that it would be OBVIOUS,that sinatra was little more than a moderately talented "song stylist". I won't even delve into his "film carreer" and the "BIGG BIDNESS"that foisted those travesties upon us. my point is... sinatra was the "backsteet boys" of an era. More show than go. there were numerous contemporary artists that prove my point, however, taste, and susceptibility to hype[ even after 50 yrs.] cannot be discounted.I don't hate sinatra, I just feel that there are examples of the genre' that put him where he is now,, way before his actual demise.
