i've seen ditzy. it ain't you.
i'm sorry to hear about your friend. that's so very terrible, watching someone you know and love slowly die.
my mother has heart trouble. she's doing well now, thank the Forces That Be. but every so often, she has problems, and gets close to the edge. she is 71 and i know that one day, she will go over that edge.
and she has experienced the desolation of cancer herself: her best loved sister, my aunt Jackie, succumbed to spinal cancer some years back, after a slow and torturous bout with it that lasted years...she was unable to even sit up in bed...
at such times, i think the pure chaos and heartlessness of the universe at large shows through.
