Good thinking. Some biker crank and a dog-eared Charles Bukowski paperback of wine-vomit poetry would really set the mood, too.
A big ol' smoked Turkey would be a nice totem/voodoo kinda thing as well. Diestel turkeys from Sonora, CA (http://www.diestelturkey.com) are the best fucking turkeys you ever tasted. Take a fat man's word on it. Tastes the way turkey used to when you were a kid and no matter how bad you fuck it up, its still nice and moist three days later. No injections or hormones of any kind. There's even a map if you want to stalk them, though poultry-stalking is basically what we're talking about here in the first place.
I mesquite-smoked two 25-pounders last Thanksgiving in my Brinkmann's and a whole mess of people became converts. We were even thinking of forming a poultry cult of some kind. It is rumored that Michael Bolton got his vibrato from a turkey.
I'd bring something green and horrible, in case you Texans wanted a break from that brown Mexican dirt-weed. You just have to promise to screw your skull down first.
