Download and run Winsafe2001 (It's a freebie trial, but well worth the twenty bucks to just buy it, you cheap bastards.) It has saved my computer many times.
While you're at it get RegMedic and run that sucker. You don't really need to buy it, it fixes what needs to be fixed.
Both programs fix Windows registry errors. Winsafe will save your ass. 'Nuff sed. I have thanked god for this program many many times.
