Want the real scoop of the Afghan thing? Well it all has to do with the Bush family and their endless quest for more wealth thru oil.... You see the largest deposits of oil in the world are not in arabia but in the caspian basin and are relatively untapped becuse the former soviet countrys that it lies within are poor and landlocked. Enter the bush family, they hatched a plan to build a pipeline through afghanistan tried to get to be buddies with the new leaders the Taliban and offered them a big cut of profits, in their words "the Taliban will probably turn out to be alot like the Saudi's, an oil rich dictatorship" So what if they adhere to strict moslem law and violate a few human rights especially those of women? Enter Bill Clinton who decides to send in a few cruise missiles and blows the whole deal away. Seems like the Bush's were out in the cold right? Wrong! A few airliners and a few dead Americans later looks like with the help of their new allies from north afghanistan the pipeline deal will once again be on.... A triumph for Capitalism! (sorry about all those dead people.... Oh well let's count our money!)
