The other thing that kills me is the notion that methane from the farts of domestic cattle are doing unprecedented damage to the environment. Two hundred years ago I could have opened my front door in Dallas at the rear end of a buffalo herd that four miles wide that would reach all the way to Oklahoma City. I take it back. It may be more like fifty miles wide. I ferget. My point is, who's gonna tell me those bigass bovines weren't breakin wind on a regular basis? Is the fart of a domestic beef steer somehow more potent than that of his feral cousin? Or is it that the cumulative effect of all those cattle farts combined with the other pollutants is enough to tip the scales against the atmospheric status quo? If that's the case, thank god we killed off all those millions of methane-producing buffalo. As much as I love Texas, real-live global warming wouldn't hurt here long about late January. Besides, the rise in water level in the oceans would be like a big douche on Houston. :o)
