A lotta fancy pants midi woodchucks out there have gone plug-in crazy, at any given time they're apt to have 17 clones of Steinberg Quadrafuzz open at the same time, even the hihat has its own fuzztone and wah wah these days, but I POSSESS, and USE, perhasps the ultimate recording studio plug-in FX box... a simple 90 watt Hartke bass amp. From my Mackie mixer where all the synthesizers come together, I patch the AUX 1 send into the Hartke. By this method I can send ANY signal to the bass amp and get some hump happenin'. The amp booms in the room, and the sound is either mic'ed or DI'ed to its own seperate recording track. I run the 7 string guitar, the bass synth, and an assortment of drum beats to this Analog Hump Bumpster. Man, you talk about giving the drums a shot in the arm? A bass amp will blow the clogged veins out of your drumbox's armpits, I guarantee ya.
