arguing with idiots

People have argued endlessly towards me over the years about my reasons or what I think I need in my life, be it large or mundane. But nobody has ever successfully argued with me about what I WANT. People can always bring up reasons to rebut what I think I need, or what my calendar might be for the day. But nobody can argue with me when I say I WANT something a certain way. It takes things out of the realm of arguement. If they want something from me, and I tell them the reasons why I can't do it, they can always counter with a reasonable way for me to meet their desires. But if I say that I don't WANT to, that usually stifles that approach. Generally, however, I have to find what I'm doing that sets me up to have to even deal with them in the first place. Sometimes it's just the position I find myself in as a result of the way I live. Some of that is unavoidable. Water seeks its own level, and I have historically been in pretty sorry company as the result of my own proclivities. I can live with that, but it makes arguing with idiots problematic. Primarily because my circumstances set me up for having to engage idiots in the first place. You have my sympathy. The lactating crackwhore was a prime example of how I have found myself in similar circumstances. After the first few times she popped over to the apartment after that first night, I simply stopped answering my locked door. Either that, or you can tell em you got religion. That's like turnin the kitchen lights on and watchin the cockroaches scatter. It's fun to watch, if you can pull it off convincingly enough. :)
