I have over $1000 invested in Reaktor and Vokator. They cost more than my computer. The whole "free" philosophy of Linux will never provide the incentive to develop spectacular music software. I only wish it did, but the trend is towards MONEY unfortunately. Only rockstars and maniacs will own the good shit. Pirates do alright, but they are usuially "dabblers", they weren't going to buy anything in the first place, so its not a loss of revenue. Those programs have to be invented and then innovated, money is the only possible motivation to make that happen.
