NEW YORK - A search is under way for an artist who left disturbing paintings of Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton on the walls of several U.S. museums. The 15-inch by 9-inch paintings portray the presidents against a back- ground of ground-up U.S. dollar bills. The "artwork" has been left on the walls of the Guggenheim Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, both in New York City; the Philadelphia Museum of Art; and the National Gallery of Art, in Washington. A source told the Post typewritten notes found near the paintings contained taunts that claim the paintings contain the painter's bodily fluids. "I mixed my semen in some acrylic gel medium and I painted it in the right hand corner of this piece of art," said the note found at the Guggenheim. "It is an artistic reference to the silent power of the biological sciences." A similar painting was left at the Metropolitan Museum, with the label, "Acrylic, legal tender and the artist's semen."
