This boy's dad said "splatch". I said, "Splatch is the name of a Miles Davis tune. He played trumpet." The boy laughed, he's always laughing at something. I wish I was. Laughing. I used to do it, it seems like. I thought maybe if I shared a little of my knowledge with the boy, he'd share a little of his with me. I've been recording with a 22 year old young man who's really into the Bitches Brew Miles, although his favorite guy is Coltrane. His dad raised him on Allman Brothers blues, he's a bit wiggy at the moment, I remember me at 22, that would be 1974 era Quartett music, so wig out, little brother. I just sit around pressing buttons and grooving, although I do favor reaching around and firing up the 7 for a little heavy metal fuzztone action.
