CEDARVILLE, N.J. - More charges were pending Tuesday against a Vineland, N.J., man who allegedly beat a Cedarville man with a dead 6-foot blacksnake. Michael File was treated at an area hospital for cuts he suffered in the bizarre incident Sunday, the Gloucester County (N.J.) Times reported. State police said Davis was trying to sneak the snake into File's house when he was caught by File's father, whose name was not released. The elderly File saw the snake slithering near the front door and beat it to death with a piece of wood. An argument broke out between the men and Davis picked up the dead snake, twirled it over his head and flailed Michael File's back with it, police said. Several minutes later, Davis went into the File house and was greeted by Michael File, who beat him over the head with a baseball bat. Davis was treated for minor scalp injuries and released to police, who charged him with simple assault. File was not charged.
