yesterday morning i dug up an old Tour of Duty 2 cd. it's the soundtrack of those series. i got about 8 cds of em scattered around. anyway, i spent like 40 minutes listening to track 1, Light My Fire by The Doors. quality was good, nothing enhanced, sounded a bit muffled, just like in the old days so to say. later i found another 3cd box called "Vietnam Generation" with a shit load of songs from that same era, but much to my dismay, it was "digitally enhanced" although no notice of it was on the cover. lemme tell ya, it sucked donkey balls. i compared both versions of tracks (tour of duty vs. vietnam generation) and it was like all the great organ parts and guitar parts were raped by a cheap computer midi program. thats the last time i'm buying 60's and 70's tunes on disc, from now on i want original vinyl pressings. thx a lot fucking enhancers....next time leave it like it is, the ticking of a needle has its charm.
