I've been reading some crap recently about a controversy surrounding these so-called animal-human hybrids, or chimeras. If you don't know what this is, and you don't, scientists have begun blurring the line between humans and animals at the cellular level. For example... Last year at the Mayo Clinic researchers created pigs with human blood flowing through their bodies. And at Stanford University in California an experiment might be done later this year to create mice with human brains. Scientists feel that, the more humanlike the animal, the better research model it makes for testing drugs or possibly growing "spare parts," such as livers, to transplant into humans. (all those alcohol swiggin bastards may be in luck!) Of course, there are always the detractors and the nuts who want to see science grind to a halt. They consider such combinations to be subhuman (they've obviously never read any of the shit written by some of the lamers who have been flamed on here!). And then there are the whacko left-wingers who want to know at what point would it be considered human? And what rights, if any, should it have? Last year Canada even passed the Assisted Human Reproduction Act, which bans chimeras. Specifically, it prohibits transferring a nonhuman cell into a human embryo and putting human cells into a nonhuman embryo. But think of all the sick advantages that could come out of it. Imagine...chicks with six tits, or two......!
