This award is for two musicians playing as a tightly locked rhythm generating machine that is like a fountain with an endless supply of WONDERFUL life replenishing MUSIC..... it is literally ecstacy to hear these musicians play ANYTHING.... who is it? I don't know their names (yet) but I've seen 'em on TV about 4 times, and I've heard snippet from a CD, the drummer and bass player for Bruce Hornsby... whoever they are, are such motherfucking motherfuckers, bad fucking ASS bass and drums. I'm so serious I could have a heart attack except it feels too good to be anything but a healing force. Anybody really checked them out close up? Gary Friedrich brought the CD in, put on this killer song, I immediately started playing piano with it, Gary says, "You're right on it" I said, "that's what this studio is for, man" the truth is, its like when I "jam" with ZZTop. I put on their CD, dial up a monster Hammond, and go for iit. The whole album. All new songs. You expect me to sit thru this and not play? Are you NUTS? I can sit in with ZZTop RIGHT NOW playing bad ass Will Alexander programmed Hammond, or I can sit on my hands and say "gosh, they sure sound good as a trio" BULLSHIT! I'm playing and nobody's gonna stop me, not even ZZTop, who I prefer as a trio. I'm still gonna play anyway.
