No they didn't die in a suicide pact (sounded good though) but they are dead........ PAUL WINCHELL, ACTOR, VOICE OF TIGGER, DEAD AT 82 Paul Winchell, a ventriloquist and voice actor best known for bringing Tigger from "Winnie the Pooh" to life, has died in Moorpark, Calif at 82. Winchell, who voiced Tigger for more than three decades, died in his sleep Friday at his home, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday. The ventrilo- quist became a fixture in early children's television, hosting "The Paul Winchell-Jerry Mahoney Show," "The Bigelow Show" and "Circus Time." Winchell first voiced Tigger in 1968 for Disney's "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day," which earned an Academy Award for best-animated short film. The entertainer's other voice credits include Gargamel in "The Smurfs," Dick Dastardly in Hanna Barbera cartoons, and Boomer in Disney's "The Fox and the Hound." Winchell also held more than 30 patents, including a disposable razor, a flameless cigarette lighter and an early version of an artificial heart in 1963. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jean Freeman, five children and three grandchildren JOHN FIEDLER, CHARACTER ACTOR, VOICE OF PIGLET, DEAD AT 80 Veteran character actor John Fiedler, the longtime voice of Piglet in Walt Disney's "Winnie the Pooh" stories, died in Englewood, N.J. He was 80. Fiedler, who also was best known for playing Mr. Peterson, the henpecked therapy patient on "The Bob Newhart Show," died Saturday at the Lillian Booth Actor's Fund Home, where he had been a patient since November, the Los Angeles Times reported. His career lasting more than 50 years spanned the stage, screen and television, playing meek, mild-mannered characters. He played Juror No. 2, the unassuming bank clerk, in director Sidney Lumet's classic 1957 film of the Reginald Rose courtroom drama "12 Angry Men," starring Henry Fonda. In addition to a brother, Fiedler is survived by his sister, Mary Dean, of Milwaukee.
