I figured for the MP3 (and a scratch track at that), a low kbps was okay for now. I know what you mean, though; the difference is staggering. (Since I'm on dial-up, I have to keep the file as small as possible. I have to sacrifice a little sound quality, sadly, but these things can always be re-tooled.) No singing on "Krakka," but I've considered belting out a few vocals here and there. I'll have to get a little practice at some karaoke joints, heh. Thank you kindly for listening, and for saying cool stuff about it. There's better stuff to come. I've become addicted to Ableton, but I want to do something radical with it, rather than just Acid-Plus. Last night, I kept adding MIDI tracks to Ableton; I think I got to about nine or ten before things became too slow to handle. I love coming up with my own riffs with the MIDI, but I guess you have to balance that with WAV audio, to keep things going. (Or, record each MIDI track with Cool Edit or Sound Forge, as a WAV, and use that instead.) I'd be the first in line to buy more RAM, but I'm on a Compaq, which, for some damn reason, won't take normal SDRAM. It has to be specific to this machine. Lame. I'm going to have to track down a relatively inexpensive MIDI keyboard soon. I have to plot the notes, one at a time, like it's the MTV Music Generator all over again. (Which, admittedly, makes me a little nostalgic. Only a little, though.) I'm not sure where to start with MIDI keyboards, though. Eric has one, but I've never plugged it into the computer. We'll have to see. Hell, I just want to get back into practice.
