Mission Statement: To prevent and/or minimize the loss of life and property from fire, sudden medical emergencies and the consequences of natural and man made disasters by providing professional emergency services to our community. ***BEXAR COUNTY BURN BAN***: A burn ban has been issued for Bexar County. There are few circumstances in which people can burn only if they obtain a permit; call the Bexar County Fire Marshal's Office at (210) 335-0300 for additional information or to apply for a permit. Violating the burn ban is a class C misdemeanor. ****************************************************************************************************** BURN PERMITS: Burning of trash, leaves, tree limbs, construction materials, or household garbage is not permitted. A burn permit can be obtained for land clearing. There is a $200.00 permit fee. Burning is allowed without a permit for domestic outdoor cooking and for warmth, but must be in a fire-proof container. Violations of the open burning ordinance are subject to a fine from $50.00 to $2,000.00 per offense. ******************************************************************************************************
