My Friend God Bless your Heart Hunny. Don't Be Afraid Fear Alone is Enough to Bring On A Seizure. My Friend there is possibly a way out medicine, doesn't do the trick for everyone and there are other options. I myself chose to have the temporal lobotomies and they were 99.9% successful in me. I have had 1 seizure since sept 2003 and it was my own fault. I was down to 100 mg of limictal a day until I had my last seizure which was in february and that was because I decided to play doctor and see if I could do w/o meds. Finally before that I was on mad amounts of meds (limicital, tegrotol xr and xanax and phenobarb). Considering I am a very grateful recovering drug addict, it is not healthy for me to take phenobarb or xanax after my last sez. I spent 3 weeks on kolonipin just to get back on track... thank God I didn't pick up my old habits. If you have medicare they can help you if your seizures are repairable. There are options such as the lobotecomy or vns therapy. My nero doc is an epilepsy specialist for the Cleveland Clinic and my nuerosurgeon specializes in epilepsy and severe spinal cord injury. When I had the surgery the hospital paid my air fare and hotel for a week because I couldn't afford it and my insurance covered the rest here. If u can afford to see this guy I promise you results. Some of us are not able to have such procedures due to other medical issues or the sezuires being inoperable but your chances of it being repairable are good. I swear by these docs. I have seen easily over 20 neuro docs and my doctor is a very genuine man he truly cares about his patients. He's very good to me. If he doesn't hear from me for a few weeks he calls me. He's a very busy man and if I walk into the hospital w/o an appt he will make sure he sees me that day. No matter what the case be if I ask for an MRI he calls in the orders that day. Super potent meds get called in that day. I am very lucky, that man has been a God Send for me. Carol, I would love to talk to you and hear your story.
