I finally turned Eric on to David Cronengerg's "Videodrome." I was probably way too talkative during the film, but I do remember mentioning how many movies have ripped it off. Huge flicks like "The Matrix" and "The Ring" lifted shit directly from this movie. John Carpenter (another favorite of mine, particularly for his home-brew film scores), when asked about Cronenberg, said he's the best of that particular crop of genre filmmakers. This includes George Romero, Dario Argento, etc. I think it's the first time Howard Shore composed for Cronenberg; he did a fucking rad jazz score for "Naked Lunch."
