The Japanese "Ringu" is watchable, although I'm a bigger fan of their over-the-top gore movies. The first one I saw was "Tetsuo: The Iron Man," ages ago. It's in black and white, has a fast-paced industrial score ("Pi" reminds me of "Tetsuo" big time), and features a guy turning into metal. He tries to fuck this girl, and his wang turns into a drill that rips her apart inside. Japan rules.
