Holy shit, Kurt Elling makes really good noise with his words. I have spent the past several hours exploring the genre of vocalese, which i had always enjoyed immensley, and I have discovered a noise that induces effects short of only Frank's. I may be a few years late, but if any of you have not checked out such artists as Elling or mark murphy, i recomend it in place of (or in conjunction with) your usual recreational drug of choice. Skat aint got scat on clever lyrics and jive language. Gary Bartz's Ntu Troupe is also good, though much broader in style. I suspect that the chuckwagon especially would get a kick out of Elling's music, if he hasnt already. Also, the wiki thingy is still in effect if you care to submit info. Good looking out, XAL, now lets pile some more scat on the mound, folks. Today, lyrics vocalizing zawinul's, hancock's, monk's and 'trane's lead parts framiliar jazz noises; tommorow, english-speaking acoustic pianos. How Grand!
