he was always very loud and prejudiced, talking about "the niggers and the queers!" he didn't really mean it, but it was so funny, you couldn't keep from cracking up. once he saw you were highly amused, he wouldn't stop until my aunt terminated his bullshit. he was what you'd call an "NRA gun nut". carried several guns at all times, he taught me well about the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, and how that ties in directly to me being an Otto and an American. he said it was my RIGHT, and the government is hell bent to take it away, so I had better be aware of it, and understand what it means and why its important. I asked him to imagine how many people who were gay must've made the ultimate sacrifice defending our Constitution, and know one knows about it, or cares about their rights... he thought for about 10 seconds, the he bellowed "then they ought to keep it in the closet!!" he always had me screaming with laughter, he was just fucking funny, even when he was being a grouchy old bigot. and don't even mention the name "rosy o'donnell", look out, here comes the shit storm. he used to always offer to "give her a third eye socket!" then he'd pat his pistol, the one you could see sticking out of his belt. now that i think about it, he was the funniest motherfucker in our whole family... except for me, of course.
