A week or so ago, we found two great new friends. Real live ones to meet in the flesh. We have been visiting this Irish pub something like 10 times now where each sunday a mean-ass blues musician called dr. Slide (www.drslide.de...check it out !) plays for free as a public rehearsel. We met up with this guy who is just such a completely relaxed and nice individual. He invited us over to his house to have drink last week and we had a great evening drinking dry cider, some wine and eating weird dutch candy, chatting and listening to JJ Cale and John Lee Hooker. His friend and new flat-mate, who is a blues harp player is also there. This sunday they both came to the Irish Pub again, where Dr. Slide was playing solo (which is a treat, because he gets very deep into the music when he plays solo). The blues harp player -Thomas- sat in in the course of the concert and something really magic happened....both of them were on fire and just grooving everyone's ass off. They couldn't stop playing and we couldn't stop listening. We sat after the concert until 01:30 and than sadly all had to go because of the day job. Next Saturday we'll go to a Russian disco with live music in Germany's oldest cinema. We also made arrangements to meet up every tuesday and just have fun and enjoy life ! Damn, we missed this kind of human interaction since we left Holland....It's good to get the feeling back !
