do you mean "with food on them", or do you mean "the actual platter itself"? i have no idea what they charge the customers, but when i break a luann platter, or a combo platter, they tax me with about $5 worth of bitching. the WORST is a huge serving bowl called a "large casserole dish", they cost $75 a piece! break a couple of those, and you'll see a side of my boss you won't like. one night, two of them jumped off the machine by themselves with an awful crash that brought people from all over the kitchen, to see what the hell just happened. i was standing about 5 feet away from where they hit the floor, one thru off this freak ricochet shard of china that was like a razor sharp, whirling ninja star. it hit my forearm, and that son of a bitch would not stop bleeding. i had to put on this long, thick rubber glove going up to my elbow, with a towel duct taped around my arm inside, to keep blood off of the dishes and the equipment. when we finished, i removed the glove.... YUCK!!! gurgling bloody mess!!!!
