William Buckley was tortured mercilessly by his captors to obtain information about CIA activities in the Middle East. His main tormentor was Aziz al-Abub, a Lebanese Doctor recruited by Hezbollah who oversaw and video taped the whole episode lasting 444 days. The torture and interrogation consisted of a combination of methods including injection of LSD and other hallucinogenic substances, a Soviet developed method which consisted of inserting a rubber balloon into the victim's stomach and inflating it and mind-control/psychiatric techniques again developed by the Soviet Union. Videotapes of this were sent to the CIA's HQ in Langley, Virginia. Sadly William Buckley eventually broke, divulging information which almost eliminated any US intelligence operations or capability in Southern Lebanon. He eventually died of a triple heart attack under further torture that not even the Iranian heart specialists present could stop.
