i checked some statistics about the 2012 election, just to see how many people were voting in various races. for the house of representatives, the ballpark was 100,000 to 200,000 on both sides. for the senate it jumped up to 1 million, 2 million, i think florida was 4 million voters, again, both sides. that's 10 times more voters than the house races. then the presidential totals were about 60 times bigger than the senate races. my favorite election prediction was by newt gingrich, citing his experience as his source, he predicted a massive romney victory with over 300 electoral votes, and he added that the GOP would also take over the senate, basically, this master conservative politician at the top of his game (the bottom of his own barrel) exposed the depth of his delusions for all to see... the GOP lost house seats, little rinky dink local yokel races that were 1/600th the size of the "big leagues"... that's 0.16 of ONE PERCENT, that's the statistical expression of the sheer depth of this political genius' depraved and PITIFUL assessment of the american political situation. that's not "conservative", that's deranged christian alcoholic psychosis.
