Who remembers KTSA Accuweather with a guy named Joe Sobel? I wonder if he still reports for them. I used to have him on my newscasts, and Brad Messer always did the morning shift after me back in the late 70's. Logan Stewart was alive back then, and brought his poodle into the studio every morning. I will always remember Logan's stance right before a newscast ~ you'd think he was on national news ~ and I can still see the way he used to fold his ear, rear back and greet with "A todos mis amigos~!"
Brad would come in 30 SECONDS (not minutes) before a newscast, flying into the studio from his car, rip the AP/UPI wire news and read it on the air like he'd been re-writing it all day.
And all of this was when I was 19 years old.
I got to learn from some of the greats... including Steve Coffman. I remember when Coffman was at KRIO, before we all went to KENS, with KFAN (Lincoln Center) somewhere in between...
Ok, don't mean to bore anyone. Just reminiscing.
