I was involved in the Alamo wells dig with Frank Bushbacher a few years ago.Several historians confirmed the graveyard is there. As i was told....the u.s.army paved over the graveyard when they had control of the ruins. They stored hay for their horses in those days.As time went by,nobody wanted to come clean on its exsistance. The only official person ever to recognize its exsistance was Mayor Bill Thorton ....who by the way, gave us a permit to dig there. We never found what we were looking for because a backhoe operator started digging before we gave him the exact position(he thought he knew the right spot) ...we thought he already new...in the end he was 10 ft. off the "X" marks the spot. The city wouldnt grant us another permit....so we filled our holes and left.
