I can tell you that after 20+ years of airtime, equalling about 16,000 hours, 1200 shows...let's see...who's got it over joke corn anyway?
And Steve Coffman has it over ALL of us...which I totally respect and look up to. Yeah, even Steve & I have had our differences, but he asked me back to KENS, on our farewell, sign-off day. Duke may remember.
One distinct memory I have of KENS is joke corn's bullshit I-10 east show on Sat. nights for one hour, for which he was paid NOTHING. Corn has never earned a LEGAL NICKEL in MY biz. Yeah, fucker, you were on MY turf, into MY fucking career that I managed to raise a son on, and buy a house.
What did you earn corn? Certainly not respect. Obviously, you respect me enough STILL to thank me on your wretched little bullboard. As I've said before, both of your listeners will miss you. And that won't be me.
I'm still pulling myself up out of pukeland at that thank you...it's the most BULLSHIT I have ever heard.
I guess I could blame corn for alot of why I haven't gone back into radio. But he doesn't get that much credit. Frankly, if Coffman isn't/can't do radio here, what's the point?
Someday, I hope John Barger will make him an offer he can't refuse. Maybe I can beg him for a job back. At least I'll have my dignity and my musical segue sampling freedom.
