I'm watching the AM news and can't help but comment on all the oppulence surrounding saddam. All those palaces & all that gold & heroin... but it's no different from the poor & the rich in this country. There's a real "seperation" of the poor & the rich here in the U.S.A., too. It's disgusting to us here also. It's no different from the palacial homes in say, The Dominion compared to living at the Samm's shelter.
My neighbor drives a Mercedes, my other neighbor, a Lexus. Meantime, their next door neighbors live in section 8, collect food stamps, get a disability check each month and county medical care.
What's crazy is these are only $40-50K homes, and my neighbor's cars have a higher value than what they live in.
I'm glad the Iraqis are looting. It's about time they get a small piece of "saddam pie", which he amassed from stealing from his people anyway. In keeping his people down, he got lots of goodies. The soldiers found 6 bags of heroin in all that oppulence...jeez...they were livin' large.
The key word here is "were".
