Don't decide I'm not telling the truth just because its hard to believe. Er, maybe even VERY, VERY HARD to believe. I didn't believe it either, not at first. You know I wasn't the first person to say it, don't you? I flat out refused to even entertain the idea. No fucking way. "Taylor loves me." That's my exact words.

My friend kind of laughed and gave me this weary smile, like I must be a fucking idiot to not listen, and he said mockingly, "Would you at least consider the possibility?"

I know that look on his face. That's the look he gets whenever I turn out to be pitifully wrong. So, I said, "Ok."

I didn't run to the phone and demand to know what's up. Instead, I acted totally normal and made a few observations, then I'd try to bring up the subject of my computer to Mike Taylor. After 2 months it was obvious he was avoiding me, so was Bob Cox. I had heard Steve Cureton had been seen sitting around talking to Taylor and Wanda Seals all night, all fired up about all this exciting promo shit, so I called him up, to try and get thru to Taylor. That's when I first heard Cureton was partner in on it. He told me all about buying ADAT's on E-bay, and how he had been recording bands. I said good, you'll understand where I'm coming from, you paid for the front end, the ADAT's, I paid for the back end, the mixing & mastering computer, and I supplied the software and LESSONS on how to use it. No matter how many times I tried to have this simple conversation with Cureton, he kept running it around in circles, saying these same preset sentences, I assumed he was just too drunk to understand.

Now I know for a fact even the ADAT's were paid for by me, Cureton was helping them cover it up by telling everyone he bought them. Yeah he bought them all right, they used his bank account to write the check for money Taylor got from Cox. Do you have any idea how illegal that is?

That worked pretty good, so the next upgrade was when "Donnie Meals bought a RADAR and a Sony mixer on E-bay", Cureton told me this twice, maybe three times. It seemed plausible. I told Cutreton, "Cool, I'm glad to see someone besides me buying something." Ooops, I wrong again, wasn't I, Mr. Cureton?

This stretched out over a period of 6 months, it was exhausting, I was talking to Cureton regularly, on the phone. I had to. Neither Cox nor Taylor would respond to my calls or emails.

I gave up. It was obvious I was never going to hear from those guiys AT ALL. Why in the fuck would they steal something I'm lending them?

About 6 months after that, Cox called me and asked me "What are you going to do about getting your equipment back?"

I said, "I don't care, you're spending more than I'm losing."

He said, "No, I'm not."

"What are you talking about?"

"Oh, I don't know, you should look around, certain things are unclipped, it adds up after a while."

"What's that got to do with anything?"

I checked my main music computer, it wouldn't turn on, I opened it up, the CPU heat sink was unclipped. That meant he had been there at my house.I started looking for receipts and bank statements. It was all downhill from there....

It turns out Steve Cureton was lying his ass off the whole time.

Why would I make up something that fucked up?
